Enable the “Hey, Siri” Command on Mac
Siri is a faster and more
efficient way to get things done. It’s available on your Mac, Apple Watch,
iPhone, iPad and Apple TV — optimized for each Apple device and ready to help
the users throughout a whole day.
Apple has developed Siri
like a human language personal assistant. This means you are supposed to talk
to her just like she is a human being, and if she is able to do what you are
asking, it works.
Siri is always learning.
So the more you will use it, the more helpful it is likely to be. You can
experiment by asking her almost anything. You might be amazed by seeing what
she can understand or even some of the funny questions she can be answering. So
if you want to know how you can enable the “Hey, Siri” command on your Mac iOS
10, follow the three simple ways given below:
Note: If you have
declined Sierra’s initial Siri offer to enable Siri when you first installed
your Mac iOS 10, then go to System Preferences > Siri and you will have to
ensure that the box is checked for Enable Siri.
1-
ENABLE THE HEY, SIRI COMMAND ON MAC IOS 10
Tap on the Siri icon in
the Dock. Doing so will spring forth the Siri window.
2-
THE SIRI ICON PRESENT IN THE MENU BAR
If you don’t find the
Siri icon that should be located in the menu bar in the upper right corner of
your Mac’s screen, follow the steps:
§ Go to
the System Preferences.
§ And tap
on the Siri option.
§ Then
check the box in order to Show the Siri in the menu bar.
3-
USE A KEYBOARD SHORTCUT
The default keyboard
shortcut to activate Siri is as simple as that. All you’ve got to do is
pressing and holding the Command-spacebar.
Also, you can set your
own keyboard shortcuts by going to the System Preferences then Siri.
