STOP THE APPS FROM RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND USING SETTINGS
Follow the guidelines mentioned below to stop apps from running in the background on your Android device:

Go to your Android’s settings.
Then you need to scroll down and tap on the Apps option. Doing so will open a list of your installed apps.
Keep scrolling down until you get the app you want to close, then tap on the app to open its page.
Tap on the Stop or Force Stop button. You must see this near the top of the screen.
Tap on the OK button when prompted. This will stop the background process of the app.
CLOSE THE APPS USING THE APP VIEW
Follow the guidelines mentioned below to close the app on your android device:

Locate the overview button. You will typically find it located on the bottom of the screen next to the home button.
Note: The overview button can be a physical button in front of the phone’s face. But on most of the smartphones, you will find the overview button located to the left of the Home button.
Tap on the Overview button then you will get to see the currently open apps.
Now you will need to scroll through the running apps. Swipe left or right, or up or down. Keep doing it until you find the app you want to close.
Start dragging app off the screen. After the app disappears from the screen, it will be closed.
This method closes the app in question, but it doesn’t stop any background processes associated with the application.
